Boxgirls Berlin e.V.

Since 2005, the boxing girls in Berlin have been using sport as a catalyst for social change through the sustainable promotion of sporting and social engagement by women and girls. We achieve this through regular, professionally supervised strength, endurance and boxing training for girls and young girls with DOSB-certified trainers and through workshops to expand their social and intercultural skills; Over 50 percent of boxing girls have a migration background. Our programs for gender-specific and integrative child and youth work Urban Hero (2009-2010), and Safe in the Kiez!(since 2010) are a central part of our concept of inclusive sports and educational work. The focus here is on violence prevention, body-intensive learning and participatory media education. With the sister projects Boxgirls Kenya and Boxgirls South Africa , the Boxgirls have also been represented internationally for several years. One of the coaches of the Kenyan boxing girls took part in the 2012 Olympic Games in London for her home country.
