About company
Our company has existed in Stafstedt since 1540, now in the 17th generation.
Since the areas are partly grassland, animals were always kept.
When Hans-Uwe Rohwer moved out of the village and built one of the first pens at that time, specialization in dairy farming took place in 1965. What started with 23 cows grew to 120 cows and 600,000 kg of milk per year by the early 1980s.
In 1986 a dairy farm in Remmels, the Grevensberg, was purchased.
In 1993, after completing his studies, Hans-Eggert Rohwer also joined the company. 700,000 kg of milk were milked per year with 140 cows and their offspring.
In 2003 the farm with 140 cows, 1 million kg milk / year and 105 hectares of its own land was handed over to Hans-Eggert Rohwer and his wife Andrea.
The specialization was continued, so that today almost the majority of the foreign trade is done by the contractor.
In 2008 the existing playpen was enlarged to 220 places.
In 2011 the existing playpen was expanded by another 75 spaces. There are thus 375 cow places available for lactating and dry cows.
In 2012 the new milking center was built with a 2 X 20 SbS milking parlor with a spacious waiting area. We have also built a 1000 m2 solar hall and put a total of approx. 650 kW peak photovoltaic system into operation.
All around the calving, the cows received a 650 m2 large "wellness oasis" on straw.
In 2016, another animal welfare-friendly playpen was leased in the village, where the dry cows and some of the young animals are kept today.
Today 4 million liters of milk are milked with around 400 cows.
