Job role
Our client within the retail / FMCG sector, seeks an experienced Assistant Store Manager to be based in Queenstown.
Duties & Responsibilities
Responsible for management of Store
Provide quality and personalised service to customers
Inventory control and ensure Food safety and hygiene control
Prepare and process the retail shifts for the stores
Staff Management and HR related responsibilities
Coordinate with the Store Managers and staff
Responsible for ensuring the correct processes are implemented to increase efficiency
Assessing stock levels and assisting on the floor as required
Monitoring stock movements and current stock holdings
Reporting on rate of sales; compiling movement reports
Responsible for monitoring promotions
Reporting during management meetings and providing solutions for store improvement
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Matric Certificate
Strong Computer Literacy
A minimum of 2 year’s related experience
Previous experience in the retail / FMCG sector essential
Completed Tertiary Qualification in retail management would be highly advantageous
Previous experience with staff management essential
Familiar with labour laws – sick leave, negligence etc.
Strong command of English
Extensive experience with maintaining and controlling inventory (perishables; stock management; rotations; wastage control, ordering, etc.)
Knowledge of Food safety and hygiene control
Valid driver license and own vehicle
Candidate must reside in Queenstown or be willing to relocate to Queenstown
Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays
