The sporting spirit of Bernat Picornell and a group of 16 regular friends at the Solé gymnasium led them to found the Barcelona Swimming Club on November 10, 1907. The club is the dean of Spanish swimming, founder of Catalan and Spanish federations and the Spanish Olympic Committee inspiring, it was necessary to create institutions so that the first Olympic all CNB, could participate in the Olympics for the Amvers in 1920. It is also the dean's club of water polo, playing the first game on July 12, 1908 against the crew of an English boat. On December 5, 1996, the CNB Foundation was created with the main purpose of disseminating and promoting sports, social and cultural sports at the Barcelona Swimming Club.
