Health Risk & Environment Officer
Applications are invited for the above-mentioned position to be based in the Security & Risk Department – Springs, Supply Chain . The successful candidate will report to the Security & Risk Controller .
Key Performance Areas Include (but Are Not Limited To)
Security and loss control co-ordination.
Assisting in maintaining compliance to Group Safety & Fire Prevention Standards; OHS Act; COID Act;
Municipal & Building regulations; SABS codes; etc.
Ensuring that procedures are in place for the protection of assets
Manage site security, which includes: Implementing and maintaining effective access control
Performing related administration, which includes: Detailed recordkeeping with regard to Risk, Health & Safety Standards, Emergency & fire planning
Effective people management - Supervision of contracted Security and Cleaning Services staff and monitoring of service levels
Conducting hazard identification, risk assessments, audits and investigations
Assist in maintaining Quality Management Systems and Standards (ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, etc.
Incident investigation and reporting.
CCTV Camera System
Active participation in Mini-Business (MDWT) activities.
The Successful Candidate Should Preferably Have The Following Experience/skills
A minimum of Grade 12 and SAMTRAC or equivalent qualification
Relevant working experience of 2 – 3 years in a similar capacity within a Health & Safety and / or Security & Risk field.
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. OHS Act, etc.) and risk control standards.
Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO, HACCP; etc.).
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to ensure effective interaction with individuals on all levels.
Competent in the use of the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
Proven ability to plan, organize, co-ordinate, facilitate and evaluate initiatives.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
A valid driving licence (Code B) and own or reliable transport
Willingness and ability to perform standby duties if required and conduct site and emergency visits after hours.
Grade E – A (Advantage).
